My ears and/or tail finally arrived...but how do I care for them?
All ears and tails are handcrafted from luxury, silky smooth faux fur and have a few specialized care requirements to keep them in tip top shape.
Ears
- Faux fur ears should never be fully submerged in water, instead you should spot clean any necessary areas with a damp Q-tip and let the area air dry fully.
- You can use clean hands or a wide tooth comb to style your ear fluffs and smooth down any fly aways.
- Do not use any type of slicker brush or de-shedding brush on your ears, this can damage the fibers and pull out the fur from the base of the ear.
Tails
- Faux fur tails can be spot cleaned much like ears.
- Non-airbrushed tails can also be fully submerged in lukewarm water if major cleaning is required and hung up to air dry.
- A wide tooth comb or brush can be used to smooth down and de-tangle your tail.
- Want your tail to look extra fluffy? Hold it upside down and give it a few gentle shakes.
Storage
Ears and tails should be stored in a dry, cool place out of direct sunlight for the best color preservation. Please do not store your faux fur items in an airtight container, this can cause the fur to absorb the smell of the container (storing a tail in an airtight plastic tote can cause the tail to absorb the plastic smell of the tote).
